KSK at NBL/SKIL Super Grands World Games XXIV

Six members of the Davila Middle School KICKSTART KIDS and their Instructor were invited to participate in the 2013 NBL/SKIL Super Grands World Games XXIV Sport Karate competition. Master Rommel Gargoles and six of his students, (2) Seventh Graders and (4) Eight Graders, were able to make the trip to Charleston, SC to compete for World Titles from the 26th to 31st of December. The Team represented the Brazos Valley and Davila Middle School KSK programs extremely well. They would like to thank everyone for all of their support!

The team garnered one World Title and (2) Amateur World Titles, one Overall Point Champion (SKIL), (5) 2nd Place finishes, (6) 3rd Place finishes, (3) 5th Place finishes, one 6th Place finish, one 7th Place finish and two 8th Place finishes. Only the top eight finishers in each division were recognized and the World Titles were awarded on the last night during the Finale Super Show. Brazos Valley’s newest NBL/SKIL World Title Holders are Master Rommel Gargoles (his 11th title), Max Lipscomb and Louis Ruffino. The Davila KICKSTART KIDS program now has five SKIL Amateur World titles (including last years winners: Parker Brady (2) and Dallas Trejo (1)) and (10) W.O.M.A.A. Amateur World Titles (Dallas Trejo (4), Jason Hronek (3), and Max Lipscomb (3)). These results should assure another Top 25 Karate School World Ranking for the Davila KICKSTART KIDS program. If you see these young men and woman, please congratulate them. They competed very well against the best Martial Artists the World has to offer.
