KSK in the Media: KSK Toasts to 20 Years

Chuck Norris’s KICKSTART KIDS charity celebrated its 20th anniversary at River Oaks Country Club with a champagne toast led by Linda Lorelle and “Love Boat” doc Bernie Kopell.

And despite Norris being absent from the celebration due to a family emergency, celebs including Houston Texans star J.J. Watt and Barbara Bush congratulated KickStart for its statewide effort to help at-risk youth build character through karate.

Events In Bloom creatively crafted white hydrangea trees with candle-lit lanterns for centerpieces, surrounded by mini Bonsai trees as party favors to coincide with the soiree’s tree of life theme. Auction items such as a Fendi fall 2013 pony hair 2Jours Elite tote, a South African safari, and a wine cellar package (tasting party and 49 bottles of wine) created a bidding war among guests like Rob Chramosta, Phyllis Williams and Bill Berry.

Kudos to long time supporters and 2013 gala chairs – Alice and Keith Mosing, Judge Michael McSpadden and Laura True, who was honored with the Team Spirit Award — for raising more than $500,000.
