KSK Staff Volunteer at Vaccine Distribution

Vaccine distribution has been the light at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Kickstart Kids staff was honored to have the opportunity to volunteer at one of the vaccine distribution hubs by the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management. Long-time parent and supporter of the program Laura Norman reached out to Kickstart Kids and invited staff to volunteer, and also receive the vaccine.

Chief Financial Officer Greg Meyers, Director of Development Brittany Hernandez, and Senior Marketing Assistant Brenda Franco signed up and were immediately put to work. Although the shifts were long and hot, as one would expect with Houston weather, it was also cheerful and full of hope as droves of people drove through the distribution hub and received what many were calling their “Freedom Shot.”

It was a true moment of coming together for the greater good of the community. Kickstart Kids gives thanks to all of the medical personnel, frontline workers, and individuals who are volunteering their time to get us back to normal and back in the classroom.
